One of the hardest, but most necessary and valuable, things is remembering that there is life outside of the cancer. Even at this early stage we are feeling like we have entered an entirely different world, and every decision is shaped by this new factor.
Today I took some time to have a Daddy-Daughter day with Sana. We made pigs in a blanket, watched a movie, and cleaned up the house together.
Simple things like this are always important, especially when a dose of normality is needed. It's also important to remember that you have other family members who aren't sick and may be afraid to ask for their share of attention lest they feel guilt for being selfish.
