With our family at home together for the first time since February, we celebrated Thanksgiving quietly. Even in the darkest of times there are things to be thankful for, and today is what that's about.
For dinner, we made duck breasts with a cherry reduction, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. Why duck? Because we don't have an oven! Also, duck is amazing and you really should try it if you haven't.
To remind us of our new reality, as I was plating dinner TJ got very upset and then threw up all over the kitchen floor. Some of the medicines he's taking really mess with his digestion, so things like this can happen suddenly. The good news is he immediately felt better, so after cleaning him and the floor up things went more normally.
TJ didn't want any of the Thanksgiving dinner (no surprise; he likes simple foods), so Junko, Sana, and I enjoyed the meal while he ran around playing. Now it's time to have a quiet evening and enjoy our family being together.
